A Quagmire of Chores
I seem to be falling deeper and deeper into a quagmire of chores.. Every time I try to get a chore done, I take one step forward and two steps back. Just take a look at my TO DO List.
* A trusted friend gave me the name of a good but inexpensive plumber. For years I have been trying to find someone like this. Plumbers are impossibly expensive and I am never sure that they are doing a good job. So, I called this good but inexpensive guy. He's really nice but he only works nights and weekends because he has a full-time day job as an in-house plumber for a big company. He is great! But one of the jobs turned out to be bigger than he thought; I had to order special parts;he couldn't do anything until the parts came in. And then he was scheduled for a hip replacement. Needless to say, I have a hole in a wall and no faucet in my downstairs tub! Still waiting...
*I bought a poster on vacation. I took it to the frame shop to buy a ready-made frame. Naturally they didn't have the size I needed so they had to order it. Still waiting...
*I decided that this was the summer to have my garage painted and re-roofed. I called my painter, my good friend's son-in-law, who does a great job. He told me that he would do the job in July. Then all the rain came and he got behind on his work so he then told me he would do my job in August. Still waiting...
* I went to the optometrist to order both regular glasses and prescription sunglasses. It took me over an hour to choose the frames. Of course then they have to be ordered. Still waiting...
* I went to the paint store and bought all the supplies to paint my back porch stairs. I need to have at least 3 days without rain in order to let the paint dry. Still waiting...
*I went to the lingerie store where they personally fit bras. I found a style that I liked. They only had one in stock which I purchased immediately, but I ordered two more of the same. Still waiting...
I call this a quagmire of chores! Nothing seems to get accomplished although my intentions are great! Summer is almost over and I want to finish my To Do list before it ends - Still waiting...
Real Estate Hint - I am not going to write a real estate hint (nor did I write one on my last blog) because it is August - the slowest month of the year for real estate. I know this and take advantage of it - See above.
